About
What I do
I’m a trained journalist, writer, and storyteller. I began my career in daily and weekly news reporting on city news, crime, arts and culture, and lifestyle. From there, I moved into corporate communications at a utility company, with a specific focus on employee communications for several years.
But, here’s the thing: I wasn’t happy.
So, I turned my volunteer connections and corporate experience into a career in the non-profit industry. I eventually landed a dream opportunity managing communications at my favourite local agency, YWCA Edmonton, for 2-and-a-half years.
Today, I continue to work in the industry as a communications professional who believes in building community.
Who I am
Screw auto-pilot: I’m a dreamer, constantly following my head and my heart to create a life I can look back on with happiness and pride.
I’m warm, kind, and funny. I care deeply about my family, friends, and community and how I can positively affect them. My biggest passion is elevating female voices and experiences in pursuit of greater gender equality.
In my spare time, I formerly co-mentored a girls’ group with the YWCA’s GirlSpace® program and styled clients at Suit Yourself. I also read, get outside, practice yoga, and follow ethical fashion.
